Default PLEASE HELP

my 1 gen b16a was swapped into an 88 hatch and now it runs like poo. whe it starts it lacks power and when reved up it sucks air into the intake and pops then blows ito back out and dies. any idea?

Sounds like timing, who dis the swap? Whas the motor running in a previous vehicle you owned?

no codes and i bought it from the guy who did the swap. hes done alot of other swaps. and it ran from house to house but real shitty. i have the stock ecu and a chipped one and the car runs the same with both.

check your plugs , i had a similar problem due to a bad connection but i cant remember what plug i did but it fixed it.

Check cam timing.
Do you have poopy Autozone wires and Autolite plugs?

I would try checking the timing belt, make sure it didnt slip a tooth and go from there.

Yeah, start with the basics:

1. Check cam timing
2. Check compression (gotta do #1 first!)
3. Check fuel pressure
4. Check ignition parts (cap/rotor/wires/plugs)
5. Check ignition timing

Thats a good start!

^^^ give that a try ^^^

The only time I've ever had this issue is when I got some moisture in my cylinders after a car wash/engine bay rinse. (had bad valve cover gasket) had to pull the plugs and roll up a shop towl and stuck it in the spark plug holes over night. It absorbed the moisture, i guess, and when put back together everything was fine.... I doubt thats your problem, but if nothing else pans out, give it a shot....
