2004 Pilot doesn't respond to the "press and hold the 1 & 6 down method"
I bought this used from a dealer..(not Honda) and there is no manual and no sticker in the glovebox....I have seen the "press and hold the 1 and 6 preset buttons at the same time and turn the radio on" to get the radio's serial number....no go.....
Is this not applicable to the 2004? Does the car have to be on or just in the position just prior to starting the car? I have searched the Pilot from top to bottom in hopes that somebody just got clever with the location of the infamous sticker "in case you lost your manual". This is extremely frustrating
and the guy who sold me the Pilot is really trying to help so that I don't have to drive my car 20 miles to get the radio pulled to obtain the S/N. (Which will be done btw for "free" if you don't count the gas used to go there)
Anybody have any more experience with this issue....specifically for a 2004 Honda Pilot?
Thanks!
Pam

Turn the car so the accessories are on (but not the car)
With your right hand press and hold 1 and 6.
With your left hand turn the radio on.
You'll see a string of 5 digits starting with the letter "U"
Next string will start with the letter "L"
Write it down and take that to your dealer. They'll be able to tell you the reactivation code for the stereo, keep it in a safe place.
The code will flash 3 times, write it down.
You could just drive there if you're not wanting to do this yourself. 20 miles, that's a little over a gallon of gas to get there.
