man i found my car two days ago.1989 Si, got it for $2150..i think with a ZC motor with I/H/E..ill have pics for you guys to peep out. any peeps from S.cali in the 626 area that can help me out and meet up one day. (newb here) oh yeah..can i pass smog..dont know really much about emissions and other crap like that..thanks!!

why cant people in cali pass the smog test with a zc? Im in Vancouver Canada, I pass our air care test with no problems. Id be interested in someone telling me the reasons they dont pass there. Is it somthing to do with the year of the motor or somthing? They dont even check that here, as long as it passes the emisions test...............

 

If it's an '89 SI and it has a D16A1 (USDM ZC) out of an '89 Integra I don't see why he couldn't pass smogs. My $.02

 

If its a USDM ZC then you may be able to pass smog. With DOHC ZC you cant pass smog. But im sure you can always have it smogged somewhere for a little extra money to have it passed

 

there is no such thing as a USDM ZC. If the block has a ZC stamped on it, you wont pass, only because the engine was never produced in the states. Ghey laws if you ask me, but that's how it is.
