Default parking brake coming on....????

So when driving if I quickly accelerate the parking brake light comes on.
And when I hit the brakes it comes off. I checked the parking brake
switch (even disconnected it) but that isn't it.

I'm thinking it may be the TCM or the PCM (I'm a beginner at this stuff)

I pulled the power backup fuse for 10 sec (to reset the PCM) but it didn't solve the problem.

Any suggestions?

Is the brake fluid level low?

I'm not sure how that would effect the Parking brake (e brake).

dont worry about it.
remove the bulb from the cluster.
you probably have a bad connection or bad ground somewhere.

The brake light comes on when the parking brake is pulled or when the sensor in the brake fluid reservoir indicates a low brake fluid level.

AFTER you check your fluid level, because that WILL make your e-brake light come on

There is a float in the brake fluid reservoir, if the fluid is low it will trigger the brake light.

The fluid is probably sloshing around when you accelerate/brake causing the light to go on and off.

Correct! So make sure you don't top off the fluid if your brake pad levels are low. Because if you fill the reservoir with fluid, when it comes time to replace the pads and you begin to push the brake piston back in, the fluid will start to gush out the top of the reservoir.

Also make sure you don't have a leak in the hydraulic system - check the master cylinder, calipers, wheel cylinders, lines, and bleed bolts.

thanks guys.
I had no idea that brake fluid would do that.
makes sense now.

Thanks again.
