Icon2 Sway bar options for EG hatch?

Guys,

I am thinking to prep. my Civic into some road course action. My EG Si model comes with an OEM front sway bar only. I am thinking if there is any good sway bar upgrade. It seems like only the Suspension Techique sells a sway bar set. Any ideas?

I am trying to get a good combo to start with. My wife wouldn't let me doing much trials and errors to match different front/ rear sway bars.

Solo-X,

Search sucks. It always tell me to fit in a ITR bar with mix and match with different brands. And, Many of them don't really road coursing. BTW, what's your setup? Mind sharing?

I don't this solo-x's setup will be of any benefit to you. He runs a staggered tire setup and he's an expert autocrosser. That said, if you use the search you can find someone else who is driving in a similar manner with the same car as you. The problem with asking a question about one item, such as an anti-rollbar (ARB), is that you are not thinking about the rest of the suspension such as spring rates, alignment settings, tires, ect. Each of these components will affect which ARB and its stiffness setting that will work best for you.

I have run and very much like the ASR subframe brace with an ITR 22mm bar for the street in a DC2 track car (same basic suspension design as EG). For the track, with the same spring rates (600F, 600R) and Falken RT-615's, I prefer the hollow 32mm O.D - 0.090" wall ASR setup because it helps the car rotate better on track. By the way, I don't recommend 600 lb. springs for the street at all. You would be better off with 350lb F, and 275lb R for the street as it will not be so stiff and uncomfortable. I have driven over 8,000 miles with 600lb springs on my car, and I can tell you that most of the time it's a PITA - especially if you expect your GF or wife to ride with you.

Hope this helps.

I have the stock SI front bar and ASR 25mm rear bar + reinforcement along with 10K F 8K R spring rates and find it to be nice and neutral with good turn in (alignment -2.5F -1.3R, 1/16 toe out front, 0 toe rear).

I'm running the ASR 24mm Solid rear bar with the ASR subframe brace (a must) and a 22mm front sway (integra LS) you could also use a GSR front sway, its 24mm

400/500 springs on koni yellows.

I would recommend this setup if you are experienced, however it does rotate easily.

Right now, I have the BuddyClub N+ Spec coilover system w/ upper mount. 10k front & 7k rear. I also have the OEM front sway bar as well. I am not quite sure about the OEM front sway bar size tho.

The search doesn't suck so much if you know how to use it. I'm going to make an assumption that you don't know, instead of are just being too lazy, and thus will educate you.

1. Type in a general search term, like "swaybar" (as opposed to "race swaybar ej9" which will return squat).
2. Below the search term, select "Search Titles Only" to limit the results to what are probably the most pertinent.
3. On the right side, select "Roadrace/Autox Forum" if you're looking for anything to do with...roadracing or autoxing, to further limit the results and bring back stuff that is applicable to your question.
4. READ.

Doing that returned 102 results and took 0.67 seconds, plus maybe 10 seconds of typing. At least 4 of those on the first page looked like they might help you. If you can't find your answer in all of that (and I am 100% positive that you can), you shouldn't be messing with swaybars in the first place.

A few other things for you and everyone else to keep in mind when searching:
-Your car is not unique
-Your situation (roadracing/autoxing) is not unique
-Because of these two things, keep an open mind with the results. Something that works on an Integra will be very similar on a Civic, even moreso on a Civic sedan/coupe. The search function also can't look for words with 3 or less characters, so you have to READ looking for things like "ST" in the title (ST = Suspension Technique). There are minor differences in model year for Civics (and to a lesser extent, Integras), but the concepts will be the same for any of them. They are all 4-wheel independent FWD econoboxes.

Now go forth and search!
