Ciciv CCFL angel eyes ballast issues! Help!
Hey guys,
I have been having an issue with my ccfl angel eyes on my 01 civic. The halos themselve work wonderfully, but I keep burning ballasts! I've been through atleast three burnt ballasts in the past few months. I have the lights connected to the accessory through a switch. No fuse or relay. Maybe I need a relay? I took one of the ballasts apart to see what the problem was and some of the connections were burned. Overheat? They usually burn out after I drive for over 40 minutes but they should last longer. Any help is appreciated!

the CCFL halos are common in many car headlight applications...they are sealed inside the headlight, and are meant for the application. It's not the cold cathode fluorescent ligghting halos that are failing. It's the ballasts. So it's an electrical issue, and not an issue with the ccfl's. \i just don't know what would be the best way to fix the burning ballast issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanx.
You should look at adding a power wire harness. This will add the relay you may need. The relay is powered through your OEM headlight switch an power to your ballasts comes directly from your battery. You can purchase them online for about 35 dollars. I got mine from retro-solutions.com but there are other sites that sell them also including ebay.
