I see the term JDM all over the place. I've read that it stands for Japaneze Domestic Motors. Is this correct? And if so, what does it mean? That is is made in the USA perhaps? And why would someone care - aside from putting our boys to work - whether you were buying a part made here or overseas? Quality issue? something else? Thanks. Mike

 

Correct. JDM = Japanese Domestic Market which means it is a product sold in Japan. In many cases, Honda did not sent their most powerful engines to the US domestic market so JDM engines and their parts can be used for more performance.

There are some (not many) JDM parts and cars that are manufactured in the US and shipped back to Japan, but for the most part JDM stuff is made in Asia.
