Default Stereo - Scan Facility

Hi,

I have a 2008 Civic 2.2ES and have recently bought an itrip gadget to enable me to listen to my ipod in the car. To do so, I need to find an unused FM frequency on the stereo. This I can do for about 10 seconds before the 'scan' function of the stereo kicks in and automatically finds the nearest strong signal.

It is a probably a very simple answer but can anyone advise how to turn off or override the scan function? The handbook doesn't seem to help.

Many thanks,

B

At least on older cars the scan function could be stopped once set to a staion by simply changing the volume or locking the fm station into a preset location. Should be as simple as holding the button in until you hear a beep the station should flash once and the station will be set. I don't know if its the same in these cars as the older oem I just got mine and haven't played much with the radio.
