Default K-Sport coilovers

I would like to hear from anybody that uses or has used the ksport coilovers. I have heard a few people say they are garbage. I found a set for under 700 which seemed like a good deal to me but i just want some feed back before i make my decision. Thanks

Figured I can post some imput. I put these on my friends 240sx and all was well for about half a year. He even got an alignment by a very reputable shop. Well a few weeks ago the front left shock blew out. K sport didnt do anything but SELL him a new shock. I guess for the price you get what you pay for. they rode pretty well on his car

Hhmm, my friend is recommending me Ksports but he drives a Accord.. It rides really nice tbh. So I'm guessing Ksports are good for heavier cars?

if i'm correct the spring rates of the coilovers should accomodate the weight of each vehicle... but it's all preference

once you switch from ksports or f2 to koni/gc you'll realize how shitty they really are..

but if you are a granny driver that doesn't roll around "slammed" i'm pretty sure the ksports will be alright for you.. but if you occasionally like taking a few turns and adjusting your height a bunch.. the ksports will mess up on you

I guess I am the exception to the rule. I don't think my K sports are that bad. I am not saying that they are as good as the top end coilovers, but in my case for a little over $500 they were worth it. I have had them on my da for over 2 years and haven't had any problems. I have driven my car many different ways, auto-x, hpde, and daily driven. The adjustment leaves something to be desired, but it was better than a blown stock setup. I wouldn't pay more that $500 for them.

I can attest to this statement being that I just switched from Ksport to GC/Koni 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I wouldn't necessarily call them total ****,though. It all depends on what you want to get out of them, but compared to better setups, there really is no comparison.

From the reviews ksports shocks go out within 1 - 1 1/2 years of use. That statement says it all.

My old under dampened skunk2 coilovers w/ agx setup lasted longer. I was slammed while (safely) pushing this setup to its limits many times in our local canyons. It handled very well, even better than my buddies sk2 non adj full coilovers. If anybody here has been up to the Azusa Canyons here in socal, i'm sure they know how twisty some of the roads up there get. I got the skunk2 coilovers used (integra spring rates) with new kyb agx's for under $500. I can guarentee you this setup will out perform/outlast the ksports any day.

Wow reading this thread I want to send them back before I put them on my car.

Omnis sold out 2 days before I had the money or else I would of had those. But I need something under 800 dollars and want something stiff 12k 10k

Omnis were about the only thing, then I don't know the rates of tein basics, and skunk2s were cheap but weren't as stiff as I would like them to be

any suggestions would be helpful thanks

$800 is a good amount to work with, 12k/10k is a great choice but i hope your not planning to daily with those spring rates.

I decided screw it I will just use the K sports and pray every time I drive they don't break.
Yes I will be dd these but I live in South Dakota so my daily drive consist of 15 minutes to work and 10 minutes home. My friend daily's his 240 with the same spring rate just gets a back ache after a longer while

the reason for that is due to the damper not being matched up properly for the spring. you run a higher rate such as the 12/10 for a shock that probably can't handle more than 8K max and that's where you run into problems.

the k-sports end up blowing up and you're just riding on springs in the end. just because it's stiff, doesn't mean it's good.

fwiw, i daily on 16K/14K springs (Spoon N1 coilovers). no issues at all and i don't find them too harsh either. the damper is well matched, unlike those taiwanese made coilovers.

you already installed them so you might as well run them. just keep any eye on them from time to time.

I bought them from JLB motorsports, custom ordered. It took 2 weeks longer because they said they had to fix the damper to the springs. ( but just wondering when I got them The fronts have printed on the springs 12.7-180 and the rears have 12-180, would that mean those are the rates?)
I will watch them closely like you said. I wish I had money for Spoon coils lol Im only 17 so maybe after college.

a good friend of mine has full k sport suspension like everything, coilovers, camber kit, control arms, im not sure if the sway bars and strut bars are ksport but i think his are... anyways all his ksport **** is on his 94 del sol si turbo and it handles amazing!!!! i dont know if im going to put them on my integra but his cars set up keeps ksport an option for me! i would recommend ksport from my experience... his del sol has had that suspension set up for over a 1 1/2 and it is really low for how good it rides and handles!
