Alright well heres the problem, My father drives a volvo and his been in a hit and run parking lot type of accident. It looks like the person who hit my fathers car just nicked my dads car lightly without damaging his driver side door. But anyways, it looks like the car that hit my dads car just left there cars paint scraped onto my dads door. So it just looks like the paint from the other car is sitting on my dads top clear coat paint. How would i be able to remove that? Should i try wet sanding it with like 2000 grit and then rubbing compound?
Yes, you can sand it with a high grit paper, then use a rubbing compound to take out the sand marks, then after that you have to use a polishing compound to bring the shine back.

as a QC i would just put a thin layer of paint thinner on a terry cloth and rub over it fast then apply wax over it
