Default EK? EG? Dont flame me, Im new to this Honda stuff

Whats a EK and EG? Ive read post after post about EG AND EK civics and sit there and scratching my head. Please dont flame me cuz Im new to to the lingo of Hondas.

Well, most people refer EG as to the 92-95 Civic.

EK meaning the 96-00.

Some people on here are really technical about it and call the 92-95 the EH and the 96-00 the EJ.

Its just a quick way to refer what kind of car you have?

so its just the year range? what about body style? does the coupe/sedan have a different "letter code" then the hatchback or is it all 92-96/96-00 civics?

easier than saying "1995 Honda Civic Hatchback DX"

Actually, the coupes are referred to as EJs. Although I not a big fan of chassis codes and will take the extra second to type out the year and body style instead.
