im not sure if there is a difference in the stiffness of the foam used in either of the seats. an ex seat will bolt in. as far as i know the only difference is the fabric used and the headrests are different.

I don't think the ex seats hug as tight as the si, I'm not to slim so they seam tight,my 99 si seats are awesome.

lol I like my seats seats, it feels like they are hugging me and protecting me from unnecessary movements, my sides fit perfectly in between the two side bumps

Do the ex seats hug tight like the si? I love the way they look just not the feel.

from what i've seen, the ex and si seats have the same proportions, but the ex uses much softer foam.

Ugh. Those are some of the worst seats Honda ever made. Flat, no bolster, and no support at all.

Good luck if you ever go to sell it. I would keep the Si seats because nobody is going to want an Si with flat lame seats out of the base model.

DX/EX/LX seats are also heavily bolstered

I was thinking the same thing, those were horrible. Another crappy Honda seat were in the 92-95 civics, at least the Integra seats bolted right it and you could find them cheap.

I'm very pleased with the 8th gen Si seats...thank you Honda

"Heavily bolstered" is the over statement of the century. A ITR JDM recaro is heavily bolstered. My grandma drives an '09 lx and the seats aren't nearly as supportive.

I tried out a bunch of seats in my ej6 before I finally stuck with the Del Sol seats.

In the course of about a year I had tried Integra seats, Corbeaus, had fabbed up something to fit some 92-96 Prelude seats in it and finally settled on the Del Sol units.

I am with the OP on this one. I am 5 10 225 and the top of the seat is not so bad but the lower portion digs into my thighs...I have been looking for a solution to this issue. I may try and pull apart my seat and trim some of the foam off I guess......

I can't believe this. The stock Si are bolstered but not nearly enough to cause discomfort. Try American made cars their seats are super flat and unsupportive.

I'm not a big guy (5' 9" 170ish), and fit the seats near-perfectly, but I can understand the point of the OP.

I think your easiest solution would be to take the Si seat to an upholstery shop and have them shave/trim the foam to how you want it. That way your interior will continue to match and your seat will be comfortable.

I'm thinking the rest of you should be a little nicer to this Si owner.
