Default Aftermarket steering wheels?

How hard is it to replace the stock steering wheel on our cars? And would it be worth the trouble?

it was pretty easy. i did the install in the middle of a meet actually. didnt need that many tools n didnt take that long. keep in mind your losing your radio controls and cruise control unless you do some custom fabby. i had a pic of the wiring diagram for the horn when i hooked mine up. ill dig around for it

i wouldn't do it. saving 5 pounds of weight aren't worth smashing your chest or face on the steering wheel in an accident.

^that cf trim looks badass. who's it made by? switching the airbag is easy; it's held in by 2 screws, and has 1 clip for wiring.

Not my cup of tea. I'm not JDM enough. I like my airbags, audio and cruise control.

duh, it says it on the pic. on me. if it's $590 for the entire steering wheel, not just the cf trim, then it's not that bad, considering that the ctr wheel sells for like $450-500.

You also admitted to being too poor to afford a $7 breaker bar and/or too weak to use a 1/2" drive wrench.

so you just took a wild guess that somebody who created a topic in the 06+ civic forum would drive an 86 civic instead?

you do lose your controls but i think you still retain airbags. I can't confirm it but through all the japanese writing for the description of the wheel, "SRS" is mentioned a few times and it also has the normal "SRS" logo in japanese on the center of the wheel. again...not confirming it does but it appears to retain airbags.

if you're talking about the j's racing wheel pictured above, it clearly has the airbag in it. also, i'm willing to bet the audio controls and cc buttons can be put into the wheel.
