Will stock 6-disc work with aftermarket radio?
I have a 98 Accord Coupe..The radio is stock and there is a 6 disc changer, I want to replace the radio to have an auxillary input cable for an ipod, if I change the radio will certain aftermarkets work with my standard 6 disc? I don't know much about this stuff. Thanks!
don't alpine make the radio/changer for honda?
I remember swapping factory changer with alpine back in the day(those were the days). Same cable and everything plugs right in but not to sure with the AI net now maybe there is an adapter for it.

Yes, if you can find an older Alpine that uses the 8pin din style CD changer port, you will also have to rewire the din plug on the OEM 6disk, signal ground and left signal will need to be switched.
This leaves you with the problem of no AUX input, I know of no older Alpine with both CD changer control and AUX input.
So B18C_EJ8 is right, in an abrupt kind of way.

Thanks, one more question, is there a way to have an axillary adapter? Oddly, I do not have a cassette player and do not want to use the FM transmission. What are my options if any? Thanks again
I remember there were cd/cassette double DIN stock stereos for 98-02 Accords. I don't know if those stereos can also accomodate a stock changer. If they can, you can get one of those and use a cassette adapter for an iPod.
Although White95SiHB is correct, you can get an "cassette AUX adapter" but it is no better then a FM modulator AUX adapter.
There may be an iPod adapter that uses the CD changer port of your stock HU and still allows you to keep the 6disk CD player.94
