Default fully built turbo ek over heating...need help

okay took my car to go get some gas today and when i got home i notice that my engine was over heating. before i went to the gas station i took the over fill radiator container top off to see if there was still any radiator in there while the car was on. can that cause it to over heat? i did put the cap back on before taking off. i also took one of the 7.5 fuse from the fuse box and place it in the speedometer fuse since my speedometer fuse was out. don't really know what fuse was used to replace the speedometer fuse. hopefully the fuse box doesn't have anything related to the over heating.
