Hey dude, lets work together and figure out what's the cheapest and fastest card we can get for a big size.
Let me know if you find a good deal and I'll let you know if I find one.
I'm debating about either just using an iPOD for PC Card, what do you guys recommend? I might just get a used crappy ipod and use it since USB is faster and it can do playlist and stuff.

thats what im using instead of a pc card. i have a 30 gig ipod just for my car which i keep in there at all times. I also bought a cheap 4 gig usb drive for when i download songs and want to take them with me on the fly without having to fetch my ipod from the car. the advantage of the pc card is that it is voice controllable which means you can change artists and albums with voice control which is not possible on the ipod. i believe the cheapest place to find a pc card adapter would be google shopping, i think i saw some on there for less than a few bucks but memory is extra.
I have been trying to figure out what class and size to get for an SD or Compact flash. I guess you and I are on the same boat and should do some research and share it with one another.
Problem is playlist... The only way I know how to get around that is making playlist in itune and then selecting the songs in there copy and paste them into a folder of the same name. I guess our cars should treat the "Folder" as a playlist. But this means we'll have doubles of songs in some folders wasting memory know what I mean?
Well what I have been using is a USB cord attached to my smart phone which mimics a USB flash drive, but it's actually reading from my mini SD card. So it goes Mini SD card to phone, phone to car. It's pretty slow when searching through folders... And I think it's because it has to go through all that crap to read it.
So have you tried using an SD card or something? Is it fast? You must have an 09 with a Navi too right? Using the USB port?
Second, a dealer advised me to buy a USB MALE TO FEMALE adapter for the USB port because if you are pulling things in and out of it you don't want to risk breaking the one on the car, fixing that at a dealer is expensive and fixing it yourself will make it look ugly. How are you going to explain that to somebody when you sell it huh? lol. They're like a dollar on ebay.

ya, i got an '09 with navi and yes, searching through artists on ipod is frustratingly/dangerously slow when driving. I would imagine pc cards are faster. Im not sure if you can say the name of the artist/album to pull it up but im pretty sure you can use voice to navigate through folders. you may be able to create a playlist if youre gonna use a pc card but im not sure. i may get a pc card just because they are cheap and its pretty cool to flip down the screen to put it in and also to report to you guys.

Cool dude, well I hope you read my post since I edited it about the MALE FEMALE adapter. Haha... I'd see those in stores and always thought who the hell would want something like this...

Well now I know why. Let me know how it goes, how fast it is etc... buy it at fries if you are not satisfied then just return it. I'm wondering how fast we'll need these babies to be. I wish someone had different ones at different speeds so they can tell us if there is a noticeable difference in how long it takes to load the folders.

"Hey guys after spending a year crashing my Navi screen, I think I figured out why some CF cards don't read or crash your Navi screen. I just traded my generic 4 gig card for a SanDisk 2 gig and it still doesn't work, I'm pissed it was NTFS formatted too.
The CF reader is very picky on the Honda Navi, when you buy a CF card, it's already preformatted to FAT, FAT32, or NTFS.
You must format it on a card reader to FAT32. After doing that and maxing out my CF card, it reads like a charm.
I use to think it was the heat, cold, or brand that was junk, come to find it was the way it's formatted, not all cards are formatted as FAT32."
So make sure it's FAT32.
