sorry guys for not explaning my self the cra is a 89 civic si *by what the tag on the car says * but the registration says its a 90 so im confused what wiring would the car have 89 or 91
I would say find out what year the car actually is. Running the VIN will give you that answer, then, in turn, you'll have the answer about the wiring, unless you got someone's junk yard special and no one knows what the actual year is. Sounds like a conspiracy to me....
You might have gotten someone's old "project". My little brother bought an Si that had some body work done (shaved moldings) and later found out the car was chopped in half and had a different back-half welded on.

read the vin and the block. the vin tells the motor size based on chassis and the block should say the same thing, unless you get a junk yard special...
could be like my da, its a 90, but has the obd1 92 motor in it, but not running obd1.... yes, its awesome, cause i just blew the motor, givin me an excuse to build both my h23 vtec and my b20 vtec
it would say d16a6 if its a 1.6l and if its a 1.5 it should say d15b# not the # of course but a number like a 1 or 7 not sure what the d-series efs came with besides the si.
if its an si. the wiring should pretty much be the same from 89 to 91 not sure about 88 thats the odd ball year.

88 is the best year.
wiring will be different from 89 to 90. gauge cluster wiring for sure.
if the vin states that it is a 90, check the engine block for the same vin. even check the vin on the firewall.

the VIN says its an 89 because it was built in 89, but it was sold as a 90 model get it, therefor that's why your registration says its a 90 now if you got an early 90 model year car it might have the 89 wire harness give or take what month of the year it was made in late 89' or early 90'
my crx was the same, built in 89 as vin on the door stated and the registration was 90. of course it was salvaged title and i didnt want to even find out what happened with that pos car. stolen and killed? then i revived it?
my car was a 90 though because of the inner dash and wiring. the window regulator was 90 not 89 .........i tried it .
