skunk2 sport shocks for CRX.
ok.. So heres the deal. Im tryin to stay away from the GC/koni yellow combo. My current setup on my '89 crx is: skunk2 coilover sleeves w/ stock struts (blown). I am lookin into getting skunk2's sport shocks to pair up with my skunk2 coilover sleeves.. i have searched and SEARCHED and couldnt really find the answer i was lookin for.. Would s2 sport shocks and s2 coilover sleeves make a decent setup?? Is anyone running s2 sport shocks on their crx alone?? How do you like em?? I have read the reviews on s2's sport shock and from what i understand they make a fairly good setup with s2 sleeves.. Any info would be great!

Skunk2 Sport Shocks is our new line of high-performance factory replacement shocks that use many of the same technologies and manufacturing processes as some of our more advanced damper systems. The dual-tube design features a hardened, chromeplated and super finished ground shaft, and precision valving resulting in added durability, reliability, long seal life, and smooth operation. By offering the Sport Shock, Skunk2 is taking an integrated approach to suspension tuning even at the most basic level. Sport Shocks are specially designed to work in conjunction with Skunk2 Lowering Springs and coilovers. Sport Shocks are designed with shorter shock bodies and short strokes so they will perform better and have more travel and be more durable at lowered ride heights. When used with Skunk2 Lowering Springs or Coilovers, Sport Shocks offer exceptional control, handling performance, balance, and comfort at a price that can’t be beat.
I can't see why these wouldn't be okay since they claim they work with their coilovers. I just noticed that the bodies on these seem to be pretty short as it looks like you have some pre-load on the springs at 2/3rds of the perch down. Also I think that other guy is asking what is your review on them?

They look nice, and the price is great. They have the sport shocks and the s2 lowering springs together, and im really leaning towards those over anything else. I want to drop the car but not have it too low to the point where i have to roll any fenders or anything, just have the car sit nice and low. Will this setup drop the car down on the tire? If you drop it as low as it goes without damaging the shock how much space are you left over with? All the parts on my 88 Crx are stock, so what else might i need if im going to put these on? This is my first car build, hence the name
, so any info and help would be appreciated.

I had a set of these shocks. They weren't bad for the price. I got a couple of years out of them before they started to go south. Replaced with Koni Sports. Couldn't be happier except for the fact that I spent money on shocks twice in four years.
The moral? Buy the damn Konis, be happy, and end up spending less money.

That probably has nothing to do with your coilovers, more likely a botched install. Check your brakes/lines and every bolt you touched during the install. Did you align it?
