doea anybody know if theres a road race school in willowsprings? i've done autox but want to try road racing. help me get started.

 

I know there are schools there, but have you thought about maybe doing an hpde. A little cheaper and since you have done auto-x you are comfortable pushing your car.

 

Take a look at NASA, Speedventures, Redline Track Events, Speedtrial USA. All offer instructor training and run various events across the U.S. Majority of them being in Socal.

 

i'm a little comfortable pushing it. i know that road race would be a different than autox. since you're going a little faster. but thanks for the comments. i'll take a look at them.

 

i checked that hpde-1. how many runs on the track would i get with that? and there will be an instructor available right?

Speed has nothing to do with it,that comes naturally.It's all about sharing the track with other drivers and having the awareness it takes to be racing wheel to wheel in a safe manner.
HPDE1 offers great lessons and ride along instruction and you should take advantage of that.That's what I did..

 

willowsprings hpde1 with nasa next weekend. I have to figure out which day Im working so I can sign up for it. You learn a lot from them. We got 4 20min sessions at buttonwillow last month, so I'm guessing itll be the same for this month.

Almost all 98% HPDE's have instructors in the first two groups.
On the average you'll get 4 or more runs a day correct me if i am wrong guys.
Runs usually average 20-25 mins depending on the sizes of the groups.

Keep in mind HPDE has others on the track with you. Your learning the basics of racing.
Proper ediquette is important.Safety formost. Dont lose sight of those items ever.
Speed comes later on.
