89 CRX si throttle body; butterfly supposed to be a little open? help!
Ah! My 1989 Honda CRX si IS NUTS!! Okay, here is the deal...
------------------------------------------------------------
So we just dropped another motor(1.6 liter ZC) into my 89 crx si, we put all the peices together and the car was running at 2-3k rpms on idle because the throttle body was thought to be messed up, the butterfly was showing light thru(like it was warped);
we bought one online and it came and had the exact same problem but much worse, the butterfly was open more and was pulling 5-7k rpms on idle.
------------------------------------------------------------
so our assumption is that they occasionally warp and the fact it was leaking air through made it not working correctly(defective?)
------------------------------------------------------------
Is the butterfly in the throttle body not supposed to be 'warped looking'?
is it(butterfly in the the throttle body) supposed to be completely closed?
Please help!(keep in mind all the tests for vacuum leaks were done and there are no leaks+ new gaskets:D)

Throttle body suppose to be fully closed. At least it is on mines. Only easy way to check is shine a light through the other side of the plate or use the sun to see any light shine through it. There's a small allen bolt that adjust the stopper right under the throttle wheel.

yeah you can adjust it until it's fully closed and see how that goes. make sure you have new gasket for the throtttle body too.
