Default Anyone done an H22A swap in their 94-95 Accord sedan?

Well my car got rearended badly yesterday. My 95 Prelude VTEC is likely to be totalled . What do you guys think about an H22A swap in a 94 or 95 Accord sedan? Is any model, DX, LX, or EX easier to do the swap in? The EX would be wired already for VTEC right, since it has SOHC VTEC stock. How's the performance after this swap. I really like the 94-97 Accord, style, I'm just mentioning only the 94 or 95 year due to it being cheaper. Plus its still OBDI.

It goes right in the with the stock accord mounts and the prelude drivers side mount.

94-95 dx would be the best im my opinion. you may have to do a little extra wiring (what 3 wires?) but its lighter by at least a couple hundred lbs... you could go with a newer 96-97 dx, all you have to do is buy the conversion harness, thats what i did, except i have an ex

94-95 are better IMO than 96-97, if you want the extra options like rear disc brakes(very important), sunroof and much nicer wheels get the EX. but if you want an all out fast car then you're better off with the DX.

Yeah I need some options. I can't get a DX. I just had a fully loaded Prelude VTEC now. Does the LX have moonroof, power windows/locks...and stuff?

the LX has those as options... if your not concerned about the wieght end of things, then just go for an ex... they have a slightly better tuned suspension to begin with, and also the wiring for vtec... also come w/ alloy wheels unlike the others which are hubbies.

the LX has those as options
except the sunroof.

I love how we compare the weight between the 5th gen LX and the EX accord like its a 400lb difference lol.

good luck finding a manual ex in the 5th generation....they aren't as abundant as the lx or dx...in my opinion, just go with the dx and add in everything you need...i'm assuming your prelude seats were undamaged, and they are a nice addition to the accord interior...and if the discs in the back are that important to you, you can always swap them out with parts from a junkyard...it seems people that sell accord ex's want about 2 grand more than someone with a dx...but anyways, good luck!

My ex beeatch had a 95 EX 5 spd coupe and I wanted it (the car) so bad. I bought a salvaged 97 SE AT coupe instead. She totalled hers about a month ago. Got t-boned. I wish I had that car. Oh well. That is one of the few that I have ever seen. Think a coupe is rare try finding a 5spd ex wagon

94-95 EX Sedan 5-spd's are my favorite accords ever made, next to the 98-01 accord v6 coupe(sexy).

My Accord is a good choice for more power, not too heavy, but has a wider track than 4th gens, and a stiffer chassis.

I got to say i love my 5th gen sedan, ex of course. It's cool looking at everyone's face when they just got beat by a four door. I like the sedan over the coupe, it's just easier with passengers and toting stuff around.

But if you look hard enough for a 5 speed, you'll find one. I took me a couple of weeks to find it, but i found one and it's worth it. Hate automatics!
