Im sure your thinking what can you do to a brand new 2009 WHITE Mercedes with only 5k miles on it?? Well, believe it or not, there is still a big difference to be made! As well as needed a good clay bar session to remove the fallout, the owner confessed to running the car through an automatic car wash twice and he paid the consequence. With only two washes, there were some very deep scratches as well as some surface swirls. The owner wanted these removed so that he could have a perfect swirl free car before applying a new clear-bra to the car.

The car how it arrived, while it looked clean, it still needed some cleaning.


















I was thankful for the full glass roof!

 

There was quite a bit of tire sling as well..
















I then taped off all the trim, rubber and plastic to protect it from being burnt.

 

In the sun, you can clearly see the defects, although it was hard to capture with the camera, let alone look at in the blaring sun!

For the final wash, I looked up and realized I had a helper so I took a couple shots of him in action as well. He was pretty tame, letting me get within a foot from him before he even moved.


And since we live in FL, it can be bright and sunny one moment, and then this can happen with no warning. Unfortunately, the customer had to drive it home in the pouring rain.

 

wow. Really messed up for how new it is. People always tell me automatic car washes are better and I tell them its not, just never had the proof to show it. Nice work!

as a 100% noob to this stuff, you never cease to amaze me! Just curious, but what's the big deal on auto washes? too much pressure?

 

haha thanks! Well the touchless washers are bad because they use strong cleaners but dont touch the car which is good, on the other hand the car washes that touch the car will just slap it and drag the dirt across the finish and do some damage.

 

I see...Here in GA, we don't have ANY washers within 30 minutes that touch your car. I've honestly taken my cars through the "laser wash" tons of times without a second thought. That won't happen again, lol.

 

To be honest, I run my personal truck through the laser ones as well. I just have the time to properly hand wash my own vehicle, but you will NEVER see my in an automatic that has brushes!

There is nothing special except what I mentioned above. What else do you want me to say? Its tape and you take your time and carefully tape the stuff off.
