So my problem is the following. When i turn on the ac on the car , it does get cold. I can feel the compressor turning on and it does get cold fine. The car being stationary. I can also see the condenser fan running. When it's on the run the car and the ac is on , the car simply accelerates and decelerate in a short period of time, i would say about every 2 seconds. It's annoying.... If i try to press on the gas a little harder i noticed a BELT makes a noise. So what i did was stopped the car, open the hood turn on the ac and ask someone to press the gas. I noticed that after a certain rpm the compressor is locking ! and hence the noise... what I'm wondering is.. could the compressor be doing this strange thing with the rpm acceleration and deceleration ?

Also... if the car is off and the key on the ignition is on and the ac button is pressed my condenser fan turns on, is that OK ?? i thought it would only turn on when the car was on...

 

What year Civic? The compressor may have a bad bearing.
