When you replaced the thermostat, did you by chance unplug the radiator fan switch located on the thermostat housing? If so, did you forget to reconnect it?

that connector he is talking about, unplug it, and jump it with a paper clip. see if the fan comes on, you may have a bad switch.

did this issue exist before all this work was performed or was the work done in hopes of fixing this issue?

you may be airbound if the first is the case.

I agree with what has been said above. Did you forget to loosen the bleeder bolt to remove air from the system during this procedure?

it normally takes longer than 5 minute to get it to turn on. also turn your heater back to cold after youre done flushing. if you want to speed up the process, keep your revs at say 2k. i did this and my fans turned on in about 8 mins. also, youll notice your radiator fluid will keep going down, keep refilling it as you go.

This tells you that coolant is NOT flowing through the thermostat. Did you install it correctly? Maybe the new thermostat is defective or you still have alot of air trapped in the system. I recommend that you first redo the cooling system bleed procedure. Place the car on an inclined driveway with the front end higher than the rear end during the bleed process.

Did you ever figure out if it was the fan switch?
