Exhaust help
Wassup guys i got a 97 lx coupe with stock exhoust with muffler tip. I currently bought a ebay catback but i regret buying it i want my car quiet but i will be doing a h22 swap this summer. If i go to the muffler show how should i order my exhoust to b done so it can be good for the h22 and be quiet at the same time.
i used to have this article that explained everything you need to know about exhaust.. from headers all the way back, what different types of resonators etc... but i can't find it lol
alkoholikwun has the right idea.
You will probably want somewhere in between 2.25 and 2.5 inch pipe for an N/A setup. Around 3 inches for forced induction.
The muffler is pure personal choice, but you will want the resonator. Keeps the exhaust from being too loud and raspy.
The apexi WSII muffler is basically about the throatiest and most quiet of the mufflers you could use. Just go look for videos and almost every car that uses it sounds good.
You could go with a Greddy EVO 2 as well, but they aren't as quiet. They also have the can muffler look, which to some doesn't look as good as the WSII's polished stockish look.
