Default Is there 2 different 97 Type R Master Cylinders??

Ok, so heres my question...

Is there 2 different types of Master Cylinders for a 97 Type R or Type R in general? I am doing a 5 lug conversion on a 94 integra and when I started looking for the master cylinder I noticed 2 of them both distinctly different. The one had a typical reservoir that was round, the other had a kind of ovaled looking reservoir that extended along the master cylinder.

The other thing I noticed is the angle of the bolt pattern in relation to the booster, one kind has a bolt pattern that sits horizontal and the other on a 45 degree'ish.

Does anyone know what the reasons are for the differences are between these? I have been and will continue to search on the forums and online but I havent had any luck so far.

Any help answering this is greatly appriciated!!

Thanks

I dont know about there being 2 different MCs from a 97 type r, but i can tell you that the 97 MC is different from the 98+ teg MC.

Here is a pic of a 97 ITR MC:

The one on the left is the 97 ITR MC and the one on the right (from stock ek) is how the 98+ is.

The MC with the hard lines going in at 45* sounds like the 96 spec MC

So I am starting to think I could probably use any of them as long as I get the brake booster with whichever one I get. I will have to review some more stuff before I decide though.

Thanks for the reply xd69

Since you said you are doing this on a 94 teg, that lil rod sticking out of the 97 spec MC should also be present on your current MC making your BB okay to use. The thing you got to worry about is the brake lines. If you can bend lines with no problem, then it doesnt matter which one you get, if not i would try to find a MC with a bigger bore but the same brake line setup.
