Got a JDM d15b vtec, i/h/e, and a chipped obd1 ecu, will I be able to pass emissions? The car gets awesome gas mileage, oh yea and it does have a cat.

 

what state?? just do what i do and get the cat covers welded completely onto your exhaust railing. most of the times they never look under the car and check for that. as long as they see the cover there, they usually assume its there. but one other thing you could do is ask them to put the car under test mode. alotta people dont know they can test their cars emissions before actually PAYING for the service. that way you actually know what you need to fix on your car.

 

I live in Virginia, if I ask them to test it does that cost anything?

Will 1st of all would the smog station even allow you to test your vehicle? I don't know the rules in Virginia but if swapped vehicle doesn't matter in your state just test it and see what you get. I doubt you will pass since you have an chipped ecu...

 

most people dont trace the o2 sensor back to where its hooked up at nor do they run a scanner on it. if any thing, the computer will try to cycle for it and you could say that it was a canadian car and emissions are different from there?? idk but the chipped ecu takes away from all the necessities for the o2 and what ever else you might wanna block/cap off.


and no it shouldnt cost anything to test the vehicle. im from texas so i dunno about va.
