Race header problem
I just put on my 07 Si a Dc race header and it came off another car but the same engine...the header hits my rack n pinion and the guy at the muffler shop told me that the header is going to boil up my power steering fluid and melt my rack n pinion
...i was wondering if anybody else has had the same problem???...and if there is any way it can be fixed without taking the header out???

an engine torque damper will fix that.
as far as melting your rack and pinion?
i dont think so if your driving. maybe if your sitting there idling for hours on end

no it came off a coupe but the thing is the owner ordered the Dc header for an Si so idk why it hits...everything else is fine except the rack n pinion area where it hits
ooooo and another thing before i forget...if i was to put header wrap around where it hits the rack n pinion it would help out with the heat and it would creat somewhat of a little cushin so the header wont hit as hard???

was it on a 06+ civic before? k-series headers from cars like the 02-05 si or rsx will bolt up to the head on the 06+ si (afaik) but don't fit properly with the rest of the car.

And ur buddy at the muffler shop isn't joking......that race header will get EXTREMELY hot...and it doesn't take long for it to get that way either.
Ditch it and get the correct header.
