I recently replaced the HG on my SOHC ZC, now im having some strange starting/cranking issues.
Alright on to the tech...
- The battery is at 12.9v-13.0v
-11.66v At the starter signal wire on IG position III
-I have tried 2 starters, one has been reliable for about a year now but *the car has been sitting for about 2 months now*.
anyway, both starters produced the same weak, intermittent crank.
-When i do attempt to start it everything works normal until it cranks. The tach sometimes jumps and the warning lights dim out.
-I know it sounds like a ground issue but the thermo ground is good and tight, i have a ground from the IM to the chassis and from the VC to the chassis.
Any input from personal experience or advice on what to check next is greatly appreciated.

you could have some wire shorting out somewhere.....try running a wire from the blk/wht wire for your ignition switch STRAIGHT to ur starter. splice into the blk/wht wire just from just below your steering rack BEFORE it hits the fuse panel.
i did this when my neutral safety switch went out. i didnt feel like spending $60 for a new one and now i can start my sedan without the clutch being engaged!
i need to do it right but oh well.

it just a real simple fix, run a long wire from inside ur car going out of the window then just chillin in the engine compartment and see what happens. if it fires up everytime with no issues, wire that bad boy up thru the fire wall and secure the starter cable from the main harness.
when i say secure the starte cable, i mean unplug it from the starter and tape it up against the harness bundle.
put a volt meter on the battery while cranking, if it drops below 8v or so the battery is junk. or you could have a starter w/ high resistance in the contacts or wires
could be your starter calbe, you said you replaced the starter a few times, but how about the wire connecting to the starter? or positive bat cable could be jacked up never know!
try my "fix" it will take u 5 minutes to do, strip the shield off the blk/wht wire, wrap new wire around exposed blk/wht wire, run it to starter, done....see what happens.
