so blue smoke at higher rpms means piston rings doesnt it? always thought it did but im not to sure.....

 

white=coolant/water, blue=oil, black=gas. Its 99% the rings if its when you hit the higher rpms

 

any other symptoms? could be a head gasket

 

your engine is burning oil theres no doubt about that. now you have to do a compression test on the cylinders to see which one sucks.

 

While were at it. I wanted to know why my car doesn't burn any oil at all if i drive under 4000Rpm's. But the second i get over 4000 RPM's i see i think it is black or grayish smoke coming out and it gets bad as the rpm's gain. is this blow by? or bad rings?

I have a JDM D15B Block and a Y8 Head. new head gasket and was just all put together 3 months ago.

 

yea i just put a brand new had gasket on my car and it doesnt start blowin blue smoke out till about 4500 rpms and my vtec quit working.............. about 3 months ago...... any pointers on that?
