Default '02 Accord Auto to Manual

Hi. I looked for an hour for a conversion from auto to manual and coudn't find one. I was told that I need to have my transmission rebuilt. 1st and 2nd gear are going out. I was curious, wouldl it be cheaper to change it to manual? What are the pros and cons. It would cost $1500.00 to fix the transmission and keep it auto. If so, what would I need for the conversion. Obviously the transmission, what else??

just got done with my buddy's auto --> manual, cost around $800, got all parts locally. took me about a full week, putting in a few hours a day. gotta make sure you have "all parts," even down to the correct bolts and washers. good learning experience. i think you would expect to have more whp because of eliminating the auto tranny and the torque converter, better response too.
