Sohc zc nonvtec swap
Hey guys, my friend had his civic swapped its a 92 cx like mine, but whoever swapped it put a sohc zc nonvtec motor in it...they did not replace the harness or ecu but wired the ecu to run on it, so it idles kinda funny and seems to run slow..now i'm pretty sure 92-95 civics are OBDI and the non vtec sohc zc is OBD0 and comes out of a CRX SI, now my question is shouldn't he be running a PM6 instead of a P05? IMO it would make the car run alot better...but we would have to rewire the harness wouldn't we? any opinions?
Yeah i'm sure, i thought the same thing but the motor is a JDM motor and single came non-vtec thats in the 88-91 CRX SI's and they require the PM6 to run correct but i'm not sure, and it seems really stupid to convert an OBD1 back to an OBD0
If I was him, I would ditch that OBD0 motor and get at least a D15b or a D16z6. Going back to an older motor (than the car) is not really a wise decision.
thats exactly what i was telling him, but he doesn't wanna pay to have it done because that swap is already in it i suppose...wouldn't we have the change the wiring harness to even run the pm6..i mean it runs now but not great or anything..
He can get a decently "used" D15b complete swap for under $400 and he will not have to worry about wiring issues. Four hundred bucks for a "newer" motor is a better choice than a new set of rims.
