Default Y8 manifold on a B7 head

Well i might as well start off by saying hi.

well i have a 93 LX with a D15B7, and i just bought a Y8 manifold for a 96-00 civic off of ebay for $5.

will this fit the b7 head? anyone done it before?

i want to put it on, and i will be doing a mini me swap in the future, but im saving up money to get my truck inspected.

im new to hondas, so i don't know much about what fits and what doesn't. but the D series engine seems to work the same as a ford 289,302,351 windsor family does.

yes it should. Ive swapped z6 and b7 manifolds before and the y8 will go on the z6, so yeah it should

You said that you did this before. What manifold gasket should I use? Year and model, throttle body gasket? I'm using a stock d15 throttle body for now.

Did you see any noticable power differences when you swapped the y8 manifold onto the b7?

I have an automatic tranny, and idk if the manifold is off an auto or manual, does this matter?

And the y8 is mising the IAT sensor, and some sort of solenoid that the b7 manifold has, (a cylinder, 2 vacuum lines and an electrical plug. What is this?)

Ill relocate the iat sensor to my short ram intake, but idk what to do with the other part. There's no place on the y8 manifold for it to fit.

i used the b7 gasket for the manifold and i used the y8 throttle body

the only difference from a stick and auto manifold's is that the auto manifold has a EGR valve."(a cylinder, 2 vacuum lines and an electrical plug. What is this?)" i think thats what you talking about the EGR valve.

i cant tell you if i saw any noticeable power differences because it wasn't my car and i had never driven it before

hmm come to think about it i have an auto y8 manifold. ima go take a pic of it and show it to you..

The Y8s are different between the automatic and manual, nothing else is except for possibly the Y5 in the HX (we don't have HXs in Canada so its kind of hard for me to check) You want the manual Y8 manifold (yes i'm aware your LX is an automatic, all '92 - '95 civics used a 2 wire IACV, all 5 speed '96 - '00 EX/HXs used the same style 2 wire IACV, all other D-series engines for '96 - '00 used a completely different 3 wire IACV)

Purge solenoid, you can either make provisions to mount it and drill a hole in the back if the IM and drive a short piece of tubing it the hole (i've done this numerous times on JDM engines) or you can simply leave it off (it wont throw a CEL)

Y8s don't have EGR valves, the manifold you have pictured below does have an EGR valve, its not however a Y8 manifold, its a Y5 manifold from an HX coupe (it along with the '92 - '95 VX hatchback are the only 2 USDM '92 - '00 D-series engines that use an EGR valve)

I doubt you'll see any real difference, the fact that its an automatic makes it even worse.

idk what the cylinder thing is, but it isn't a evap purge control. i unhooked the electrical connection to see what would happen, and the idle went really low, and when i pluged it back in, it started surging. when i restarted the car it was fine.

the automatic intake mani on the y8 is missing the IACV that you need. the standard y8 mani will be perfect and a complete plug n play setup. I'm running a y8 mani on my d15B. well actually the whole y8 head so.

Their are some write up's on how to use to mani when their is no IACV on it.

oh, and you will have to use the y8 fuel rail and your stock fuel injectors.

sorry man, I'm searching and can't find the writeup on the y8 intake on b7. Its not gonna add much if anything. you should look into changing the head out for a V-Tec Head.

ok ill hold onto the intake then, and ill buy a Z6 head (z6 is for high end and y8 is for low end torque right?) so maybe the y8 intake on the z6 head will help balance it out towards a 3500-6000 rpm range. im looking at an AEM fuel rail on ebay for $139. i dont want to swap in a zc or a b series. i want to eventually build a reliable turbo d15

Well, I'm not sure cause i had a full D16z6 motor and i built a JDM D15B and a D16y8 Complete Head. And I think my Y8 pulls harder throughout the entire RPM's.
