Default accord srs system

can i simply remove the srs light from behind the dash to get rid of it? i took out my passenger airbag to save some room/weight. looking into removing any of the srs system i don't need. anyone know anything about the sensors, control modules, drivers side airbag, or anything else about the srs system would help a lot.

its a 96 accord ex f22b1

Sounds safe

*edit* I have a FAQ written up on how to bypass SRS for an aftermarket steering wheel. However I didn't do it to save weight.

im pretty sure previous owner had the passenger side disabled it was sitting in there not hooked up already and i had never even messed with the airbag system before. the car had been in a few incidents when my grandma owned it and she said the air bags never went off before.
