Default Headgasket with Permatex

I replaced my headgasket about 1000 miles ago after my brand new one was leaking (covered with copper spray).
On the second headgasket we decided to put permatex red on it to make sure it sealed properly.
My motor blew up recently, since it was a new motor I brought it back to the machine shop to be repaired. The machine shop guy who built the motor originally told me that he pulled it apart and all the bearings were destroyed and one of the rods was mostlikely destroyed along with the crank. He said it was because of the permatex in the headgasket which was pushed into the oil and coolant passthroughs and made its way through the motor. Eventually clogging the oil goup and making the motor kill itself.
The motor was a D16Y8 block and a D16Z6 head, Vitara/Scat/ACL setup boosted on a ebay T3/T04E on 13.5PSI. It made 270WHP and like 220ish WTQ (not 100% about WTQ) on the dyno, a few hours before it blew up as I was driving home. It had nothing to do with the tuner, the tune was perfect. But has anyone had this happen to them or know about this permatex with the head gasket?

You should never use anything like that with a headgasket, it does affect the seal of it negatively.

Well i just know i only use copper spray when i put on a head gasket. You should never use any kind of sealant on the internals of an engine, just for the reason you just described.

No type of spray should be necessary when installing a head gasket, we never use anything like that at my dealer when we install head gaskets
