Default JDM F22B DOHC swap problem. pls help

i recently done a F22B DOHC non-Vtec swap into my accord bc i slung a rod in the original motor...well i been wanting to do this swap and the rod sling gave me a better reason to do it.

anyway there is a problem when you drive it. When you first crank it up it sounds good, nothin wrong with the motor when you drive it until it gets to temp then thats when it feels like i lose power in 1st gear and completely lose 3rd. Its an Automatic.

i think i may need to replace the tranny but idk. the CEL also pops on pullin the IACV code around the same time the tranny starts messing up. When you slow down at a redlight the motor about dies and starts revin between 1k and 2k quite fast.

also i been thinking about putting a P14 ecu in it bc i read it controls the motor better than the stock one.

any ideas on the problem?

could have a bad fitv(fast idle thermo valve). this will cause your engine to run weird as hell and possibly make your tranny to act wrong(i'de also check and make sure that your tranny fluid is at the correct level). i bypassed the coolant going to my fitv/throttle body and then blocked off my fitv on my 96 f22b1. try replacing the fit valve if you wanna skip the bypass.

bypass the coolant going to the fitv. i blocked off my fitv with an aluminum can cut up and flatened with a sledgehammer. then drilled 3 holes matching the bolt pattern of the fitv bolts. i made 2 plates and used thread lock to stick em together and put the fitv back together with the plates in place. this should fix the warm up in park or neutral going from 1k to 2k.

while test driving it today i noticed that the CEL wasnt even on and the RPMs werent even reving fast...not even at all, they were normal......but it felt like all i had was 2 gears. i had to do 55 in second gear bc it wouldnt even shift into 4th.

its kind of random which gears dont work either, today it was 3rd and 4th and a few days ago it was 1st and 3rd. could it be the torque converter?

one things for sure is the new motor pulls like a beast in 2nd gear. lol

I just did this swap in my car. I had a similar problem. Everytime you started it while it was cold, you could drive it for like 5 minutes. Then after that it would lose all power and torque. And would not move anywhere. The car would shut off then you wouldn't be able to start it again until it cooled down. After days of troubleshooting, we found that 3 of the 4 spark plugs were broken. didn't look like they were broken but we were able to turn the porcelin on all three of them. The car runs fine right now.
