It would be a worthy mod if you plan to shield it away from the rest of the engine compartment. I have one of those filter on a stick (it came with the car). I put it back on 2 weeks ago for ***** and giggles. I even took the time to wrap the aluminum piping to insulate it....I could feel the loss of torque and hp down low. Needless to say, the next day, I put my stock airbox back on.

The J's intake is a different setup so it would have different results than my filter on a stick. But I thought you'd like to hear my story anyways

EDIT: oh yeah...the aluminum intake piping was still hot even though I insulated it cause the filter was still sucking hot air from the engine bay. This is particularly significant if you have an aftermarket header with no heat shields.

Shame that intake doesn't directly replace the standard tube and allow the use of standard or iceman box (anyone want to give it a try ), looks very nice.

Saw the intake today and was impressed with it. Hopefully it makes some hp.

What about the J's Racing header? I saw in their website that they have both the 4-1 and 4-2-1. I wonder how good they are compare to other JDM headers like the Mugen, Spoon, Toda, Feels, and others?

I want a JDM header for my mostly STOCK DC2, I wonder if they are good or not.

I ordered a J's Racing carbon intake from Mike at IPS a couple weeks ago - so one of those he has coming in is mine. I will give a full report once get my hands on it.

I have heard that there may be a slight loss at the very low end, but good gains in the mid-range and up high. The key is a big improvement in throttle response. I plan to somehow fabricate a heat shield...

Peak HP numbers are not always as important as balance and response...

Or is there another one made of CF? This one looks like ABS.

Kinda off topic, but does any company make a ABS traditional short ram intake? I cannot stand that stunna chrome finish most short rams have.

They had a CF one inside A&J. I should have never gone in there.

Yes. I am running the Ultra MDI Direct Fire ignition so the plug wires go to a different coil.

You don't have to remove anything. This "SUSage" just bolts into stock location.
I think he meant the one on my car is made of ABS plastic.
