OBX header
Hey, I know I'll probably ridiculed for this but What goes wrong with the OBX header for an EP3 or any car for that matter. I've always heard that you get what you pay for but it honestly looks like a half decent header to me:

But seriously, if you can get past the fact that it's not a "DCRH" and look at it, it doesn't look half bad. The welds look good, it comes with all the stock mounting locations and O2 sensor holes. Also, it says, lifetime warranty on manufacturer defects. I'm gonna read up on that a little and see what that actually means in their terms but it doesn't look half bad for $100 less than a ceramic coated DCRH that I've been told hits the stock sway bar anyway.
LMK what you guys think and be honest, don't just feed me brand name is the best...
Thanks

obx looks like a great deal for the price. i was thinking about it, but i wasn't sure if i wanted v2 or v3. v2 is the comptech race header copy and v3 is the comptech that was modded to add a flexpipe.
Please don't tell me you think the DCRH is a good header? lol I wouldn't compare it to that. If you are on a budget then go for it. Do what you want to do to your own car. I'm personally in the process of making a custom header comparable to the SSR one. But till thats finished I'm rocking a DCRH I paid $150 bucks for. DCRH IMO is cheap so don't compare one cheap product to another, in the end they both suck.
If you want to compare headers compare it to the SSR, Hytech or Buddy Club just to name a few. Now those are top notch full race great power gain headers.

I would not recommend it. I had an OBX header and about after 6 months the flange where the two pieces met, warped and the gasket blew. Caused nothing but problems.
I am back to the oem manifold but will go with Megan Racing header as I have never heard a story about their headers warping.

I was comparing it to a DCRH cause i've never heard people complain about the DC and its comparable in price
Good info thanks

I'll tell you from my experience. I have the OBXRH Vers 2 (Comptech Replica) for over 6 months on my EP. It is stainless steel and the welding on it is good. It clears the front sway bar on a k20a3 but not so sure on k24 motors. You can still bore out the OBXRH vers 2 a little more. The only thing I don't like about it is the gasket. The outer portion of the gasket lines up correctly but the inter 4 holes are a bit smaller so you'll have to trim the 4 holes a little more. I'm still waiting to get my car dynoed. Before the OBXRH, I had the Injen Sp1576 Cold Air Intake, Comptech Shorty Header (the best quality shorty header in my opinion) and HKS Hi-Power Exhaust which I dynoed 153whp (forgot the tq#). The reason why I went with the OBXRH vers 2 is because it doesn't have a flex joint/pipe like the DCRH (where as the flex joint/pipe breaks often or gets torn, this is really common for the DCRH). Also for the price, you can get it for $245 brand new shipped and it is stainless steel versus the DCRH which cost a bit more, is not stainless steel, (DCRH stainless steel version even costs alot more and for the price, I would rather pick up a new kid krusher RH, vibrant, somewhere along those RH). Right now on EPHatch.com/forums there is a group buy for the OBXRH & OBX Twin Loop in negotiation, so I would wait for a bit until the group buy is ready. Somehow DC products were really good for the D, B & H series but when it came to the K-series, they weren't really up to par unless it was a shorty carb legal header.
my deal with the obx rh is good, ive had it about a year no problems at all. berfore then i had megan racing shorty w/test pipe.. never get that garbage, it was the poorest qualitly **** ive ever put on, nothing fit, it leaked, and found out that one of the flanges was welded on 180º the wrong way. then i bought a dc shorty thinking the megan shorty was the bad news and the test pipe endend up being garbage as well...the megan parts were so poor i threw them in the trash when i took it off.. with the obx the sound is wayyyy better. much deeper and not obnoxiously loud..
