i might be picking up an eg with a b18b2 ls turbo thats making 230whp, claimed to be fully built, t3/t4 turbo at 8/9psi, and si tranny off 00' coupe, hondata s200, is this a reasonable amount of power for the supporting mods for the car ? i wanna make sure im picking up a good car

Honestly, I would never buy a turbocharged Honda just because you were not there to verify that the car was built correctly. Anyone can just claim it has this and that installed. And receipts of items purchased don't mean jack either. There's no 100% guarantee that they are installed inside the motor.

 

i would not pay sh*t for it.
NVturbo is right.... inless he is willing to tare the motor down in front of you and prove it i would be careful.

 

mines fully built and makes 300 on 4psi. most people say fully built when they should be saying half *** or partially built. Im sure at most it has rods and pistons with fresh bearings. If it a good price I would buy it but I wouldnt shell out a ton of money just because they claim it to be built and it has turbo.

 

price is 4.5, thats true about the built part but i somewhat kinda know the guy and test drove it, he showed me dyno sheets of when he tuned it and whp/tq, but doesnt 230 whp seem kinda low if the car is really claiming to be built ?

replica cf spoon mirror/spoiler, cf hood, some rotas on new tires, coilovers, launch control, boost controller/turbo timer, 2.50 piping to evo2 catback, and i think thats pretty much it.. sir interior

230 is not bad for a engine with rods and pistons. its a t3t4 so thats a small turbo. say it was a sc61 it would be more like 275 at 8 psi. for 4.5 If the car looks good buy it. you can make more power later if u want. all say about this....you can a build the **** out of a engine and unless u build it to make power it wont. most turbo engine are built to handle power not make it. eveybody stop calling the damn things motors. a motor runs off electricity a engine is what are cars run on unless its a hybrid then they run on both

Dont feel bad i came from nissans too... and now i see why hondas got the hype. I just got ride of my b15 sentra ser for a 07 saturn for my wife and got a EJ8 civic for my self.

The car ur questioning about looks real good... but my question is how many miles r on it and how many miles r on the turbo? I know wit swaps u really never know tru miles and the engine does look clean. Did he say where he got the engine from? Does the guy ur buying it off of race in it? You dont wanna buy the car if the turbo is on its last leg. Even though hondas r known to last forever thats only if the car was takin care of. All of those mods might equal 4500 but if the motor blows thats all ur gonna have is the mods.

 

the guy that had it more daily drove it but its been sitting for a while just starts it, but im sure he pushes it here and there, and the rebuild has around 40k miles on it approx..

 

i like it its clean...
i would say its deffinetly worth 4.5 even if the motors not fully built.

 

why would i tell people to buy a car like mine when i want 2 be the only 1 that has 1.
But an EK is a good car.
and mine would definetly smash on a EG
