Icon6 H-series Tranny Questions

Sorry if this might be the wrong section but im really trying to get some help on my transmission selection for my h22 turbo build for my 94 accord

im looking at 500whp and i am wondering what is out there to handle it

would the f22 tranny be better for the longer gears or should i get a h

thanks for the help

it all depends on what your going to do more of? track or street? i had the f22 trans for a long time and it was fine i made over 600hp with it. at the track i was crossing the line in third at 8200pm or so with 118mph . the h23 would be a better choice for the track. if you got the money look into ppg gears or dogbox. but also remember there are other things to look at to that will help save your trans from breaking such as suspension but good luck

I would use a h23 trans if you are gonna keep it around 550... it will hold ok. I really started breaking the trans over 650..
If you want a bullet proof trans go with PPG.

email them they have the dog box but they are about to release the gear set
you should be fine just start saving your money if you want pick up and extra trans for parts or a swap, i started breaking gears on the f22 alil over 650hp but the h22 gears are alot thicker then the f22 so you should be ok

No you dont... OP:

PM me, I have alot of info for you... If you send me your number ill shoot you a call. I have an accord at 660 WHP (700 in a few weeks) and have blown up countless trannys OEM trannys. Forget the h23 tranny, and definately dont even think about the F isf youre running an H.

I have gotten ahold of a saenz straightcut gearset that is holding up just fine. I had a couple breakage issues due to not having their upgraded 3 and 4 but now that I do Ive been beating the SHIIIIIIt out of it and Its holding well at 660 and HOOKING the heavy full interior CD5 VERY well. Ill be at 700 once I get the 4 bar put in it... Maxed the 3 bar...

LOL

Ive got a small group of people interested and ready to throw down cash for a PPG straightcut synced set.

Were good to go, and Ive been in consistant touch with eric at bullhead. They will be substantially less than 5k.

More like in the 3k or a bit below. The set will be like the k set, 1-4 aqnd use your choice of oem 5th.

Youll break the heat treated set too. I was breaking trannys on pump gas at 520 and 380 tq with regularity, but my car hooks WELL... I broke every variant of H tranny built... H23 trannys too.... ALOWEAYS 2nd or fourth... The M2B4 I also broke a ring gear in... Havent broken an OEM final out of a USDM tranny though... Yet.

If u can't afford the dogbox or the syncro gears From PPG, then heat treating is ur next bet.
