i am a short fat guy and i have very little neck height. i do have a horse shoe that i modded to fit, but i see more and more people not wearing them.

i am really contemplating h.a.n.s. strictly because the horseshoe it a pita.

 

Tried one on and hated it. I bought the hans way back in the day and love it.

 

I use mine cut the foam in half mutch better.

 

Mine just sits behind the passenger seat until someone tells me to put it on which has happened a few times.

i guess i should have elaborated, are they really bitching about not having one?

they did when i got my lic passes, i had one just forgot it and the golves, when i was goin through tech.

If so, yes I wear one.

Why do so many people dislike them so much?

 

i dont like mine because i halved it and it is still pushing my helmet up. (plus i need to loose a little weight)

 

it's uncomfortable, but I wear mine. Pretty dumb to not wear one in a fast car. You might never need it, but one day you might and it might save your life. It's not THAT uncomfortable.

 

It only needs to be on for what...3 minutes at a time? Safety requirements are made for a reason.

i guess im just venting because i wear mine, and i see others goin faster with no net, no gloves, no pants, (well just jeans) and no collar.

 

Yep its BS its the track officials being lazy.

 

ive noticed some pics and videos with no gloves, no neck brace etc. looks like we need somebody near the starting line checking for this stuff.

anyway about your neck brace issue i would definately look into the hans. it gives better protection and is less constricting. i just noticed they have a model with a strap that loops on the back and slides so you can turn your head side to side and its still tight.

I'm the same way. a chubby kid with a short neck. Ya its uncomfortable, but deemed necessary for safety, so I wear it

 

I use the hans, its so much more comfortable then the neck roll.

 

I think the Leatt Brace is also worth consideration for anyone looking at a HANS.

I use one and always wear it, event during testing as you never know.

 

Of course they would **** the people who want one for a drag car, its 700$, the moto cross version is like 225$

hans device all the way!! i used to be one of those peaple that pushed the limits of safty but after seeing a few accidents, my car and me are all up to par!!
