Default Damaged Rubber Repair/Replacement?

Hey s2000 gurus,

What I'm looking at purchasing is a S2000 and it appears a high speed buffer may have come in contact with a portion of the rubber lining that lines the back of the soft top and trunk. It looks like a soft grazing and there isn't much of a texture difference but there is a noticeable color difference.

Is there any restorative rubber stuff that would remedy the issue? Or would I be looking at buying a new liner.

For reference: (HAP)

I think the piece is a solid plastic. I'd try sanding it down and polishing it smooth again before buying a new one.

You can find that piece off a wrecked S2000 NO PROBLEM. There are tons of part outs and no one ever asks for that piece. It would not stop me from buying any car.
