Repair/Restore Damaged Rubber Lining?
Hey Detailing gurus,
What I'm looking at purchasing is a S2000 and it appears a high speed buffer may have come in contact with a portion of the rubber lining that lines the back of the soft top and trunk. It looks like a soft grazing and there isn't much of a texture difference but there is a noticeable color difference.
Is there any restorative rubber stuff that would remedy the issue? Or would I be looking at buying a new liner.
For reference: (HAP)

Part #16 and it's $170

Damn bro if you're Chuck Norris you should be teaching us a thing or two lol.
I've got an easy fix for you. Tell the dealership or individual you're buying the car from to repair or replace the moulding before you buy the car. Make it part of the deal or walk away. If they won't knock a couple bills off the price or reimburse you then how will they treat you if you find out the car is a pile of junk?
If you're dead set on buying it and there's no way around getting it fixed for free, I'd try 'Back to Black' from Meguiars. Its a temporary product but it does work on faded or burnt plastics and rubber. If that won't cover it up, then use this: http://www.topoftheline.com/bumtrimrec.html
Good luck bro.

The place where it came in contact. Is the rubber burnt? Or is it just some leftover polish thats dried into it? If its the later, you should be able to get it out with some water/soap and a toothbrush. If it's burnt, you may have to apply somethin like back to black or black wow(ive only seen black wow on the internet.)
Thanks for the info guys, I actually ended up passing on this S2k for a better maintained one ( one owner, garaged winters, etc) it's mint.
