What kind of a difference are 24.5" slicks gonna make?
So right now im on 23" drag radials. Im doing everything to keep the tires from blowing off in the first 3 gears, but its not happenin. Last night i did a 12.6@131.6. The car doesnt hook till mid way up 4th gear. So when i switch over to slicks, is my trap speed gonna go down and ET gonna gow down, or am i gonna MPH more since its gonna be hooking up?
a slick is going to make a huge difference over a drag radial. and you probably wont have to shift into 5th gear with the taller tire.
Yeah, the gear ratio calculator said id be good not shiftin into 5th. But since id be hooking up alot more, is my MPH gonna go up? I know the ET has to go up. Just wondering sinc our track officials are alot pickier on MPH more than ET.

MPH should stay about the same. Could go up or down really depending on what settings you use.
The time will come WAY down if you're spinning that badly.
Are you making 450whp+? A 23" radial will normally hook 3rd *okay* depending on track condition in the 300-400 whp range.

Im running off wastegate settings. Basicly 21psi pump gas tune with a real conservative timing map. So i think it'd be in the upper 400hp range. Im gonna switch to a boost by gear when i switch to eCtune. But i read that around 500hp you dont really need a boost by gear.
Well im goin with slicks when i can afford them. But im just shakin the car down right now on radials. I just wanna get in the 10's.
i just switched from 23" m&h slicks to their 24.5". my mph stayed the same for the most part and last night i ran a 11.44 at 124 mph with a 1.76 60'. best time on the 23's was 11.56 at 123 mph with 1.84 60'. trying to get my 60's down but you all know how that goes, trial and error with mostly error. being a short wheel base 1g crx isn't helping me either.
personally think the 24.5 tire is a much better tire all around. drives better, launches better, and surprisingly not any harder to steer.

23" slicks from radials will make the best and most improvement. I went from 23" slicks to 24.5" slicks and lost almost .7 in the 1/4. The tire size will allow for more mph but you will need the power to get there. My opinion is to go with 23" slicks and be at top of 4th at the light. If you are going into 5th, you need to get 24.5.
