Dashboard Lights will never work!
Year/make/model may help
Also did you check for voltage at the connections? Continuity with ground?
Someone probably know, but it may take a wiring harness, or at least chasing wires to see whats up. if you have power, and no ground, or if you have ground, but no power, etc. Its a pain in the ***.

I heard you could see Paradise By the Dashboard Lights, but I donno. I always had them off.
Oh and you may not need a harness, but it could be a relay or something.
As I said, YMM
Someone will know.

Your problem is the dimmer switch. go to the junk yard and get a dimmer switch and replace it. the switch that you can move up and down for the brightness of the lights. i had this problem in 2 out of 3 of my hondas and my friends 00 EX.
