ep3 or dc5?
Seems like a lot of people here prefer the RSX over the si. I'm looking to spend less than $10,000. It seems like the two cars a quite similar, but I've always liked the si look over the rsx. What else is there to contemplate between these two models? I've read a little about pitting in the camshaft of the ep3 - does this seem like a big problem in the 02-03's, or more of a less common occourance? And the rsx - what about the trans and grinding/coming out of gear thing?
how about true vtec vs only intake vtec and a lot of power lol
If you want better performance from the start get a type-S you'll be glad you did.
The trans problem in the RSX is a known problem yes, but if you have the problem the dealership will fix it even if out of warranty I read on CRSX.
Get an RSX-S. I love mine!

you have bullshit i-vtec in the a3 but beleive me the ride is so fun in the ep3. ep love right here lol, but my buddy's type s is just much faster than my si. you cant go wrong with either of them, just test them and see which one fits you better. gl

as a dc5 owner i would prefer an rsx has more space more hp when u need it and well looks better. dont matter how much mods u throw into the ep3 its still would be left behind by and rsx type s lol. just go to a dealer and test drive both you never know what you think is better for your budget
Totally agree.A plus for the ep's is that you can go to sleep safe and not have to worry about someone stealing it like you would an rsx and insurance is cheaper on the ep.
i agree w/whoever said it earlier, just test drive them, you'll know by handling which you prefer if you can find either or in the your budget
I have an ep3, but if i had a choice i would get the rsx type s. But if it is a base rsx, than ep3 all the way.
Type-S > Ep3 > Base Rsx
we'll as a newbie I'm unable to start my own thread topic (that sucks!) so anyway i will incorporate my post with the intention of maybe answering your question.
i chose DC5 for the handling ability, the weight, roomy interior and clearly the bhp (dc5 engine make more power than ep3 fact!)
now i will post why i am happy i made that choice. hope you all enjoy the vid:

Failing owns you. They are both hatches.
How is this even a question? It's like asking should I get an Eclipse or an Evo when you have the money for either. I sold my STI before I went to school, and bought an Rsx. The Type S has now has 100k miles on it and I have never had an issue with the tranny. Just the windows(constantly). If you are seriously trying to stay in the $10k range, you are most likely looking at a SI. Unless you want a Type S with around 90-100k on it.
My Rsx is for sale Btw...*bump*

They constantly come off the track, going up and down. It looks like it's the lower piece of rubber(on the door) towards the front that is stopping the window from going up and down freely. It happens on driver and passenger side. I'm out towards the Stroudsbug area.
I'm sure it's an easy fix. I honestly don't have the time between work and school, or the patience at this point, to deal with it. I graduate next fall, so it's up for sale now, as is, including an unused turbonetics t3/t4 turbo kit, for $10k...*bump*
That sux. I dont really have too many problems with my dc5. Damn u live a bit further away than what i was hoping u wud say. Trying to sell that turbo kit by itself, if so pm me a price to think about!!

acuras have always had more powerful motors and civic's jus look good either way.I drive an ep and i was in your shoes once between a ssm ep or dc5. the choice was obvious for me. if u want power then get a type-S but if u want to own a piece of history consider the civic.......imo?

test drive em both first
