Default Burnt orange

thinking of painting my car burnt orange. which is better, black or gray primer? and does anyone know the code for burnt orange. if so PM me, thanks.

im assuming the burnt orange color is a darker orange?

i'd go with grey primer

there are many different shades of burnt orange. Do some looking at all the different stock burnt orange cars that are out and get the code from that unless you want a custom mixed burnt orange which you would need a body shop to mix for you

no matter what shade, i'd go with white or gray primer. black primer will make it look too dark.

i don't think primer really matters. value shade pimers are supposed to help the paint cover better. it's going to take more paint to cover if it the primer is black. I'm only speaking from dupont experience because that's all i've used. some cheaper paints don't offer color shades. if the primer actually makes your color change, that means there was not enough coverage on the paint job.

your forgetting that kandy or pearl basecoats take on some of the undercoat color. like alot of the kandy or pearl basecoats reccomend spraying over a metalic silver or black base coat before the color coat. or if applying just pearl powder with your clear its best to spray over a black base then it really turns into the pearl color you choose. my 2 cents.
