I'm a retard and did the infamous 1-2-3-2 shift and blew the ****, and I mean **** out of my motor. As far as I can tell nothing is salvageable, but i haven't pulled the head yet. I found pieces of piston in my header/intake manifold, broke at least 3 valves, and cracked the block. Not sure of what failed first, my best guess is a rod. What do you guys think?

looks like u just sucked some valves or timing belt slipped

 

gnarly dude. but... what happens, you jump your motor up to like 15k rpms or something and stuff just starts floating?

 

Timing belt was fine, and motor was still in time.

 

I have a zip lock bag in my room full of pieces of piston, rings, cylinder wall, and maybe some rod too that i pulled out of the intake and exhaust ports.

In that third from the bottom picture, I can't make it out but that looks like a piece of a rod laying on top of that valve?

 

I'll pull it off tomorrow, I'm hoping the head will be salvageable, but I very seriously doubt it.

 

i'm going to say no, there's a crack on that exhaust port that of that second to last pic that looks almost like it goes all the way to the valve seats

 

****, good eye. I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out. These pics are all on the intake ports btw.

 

You can really see it in the in the pic third from the top.

 

oh snap my bad. maybe it will work but will smoke like a train?? how bad is the crack on the block? maybe it's salvageable, and you can build it for boost! lol

 

No, I'm pretty sure the block is toast. I had oil pouring out of the front of it when it blew. But like I said, I haven't pulled the head yet and I'm just making assumptions.

its called power shifting and screwing up pretty bad.......

btw, op, that sucks, were you at a track or where you power shifting off a green light?

 

sucks man. looks like a friends k24. he had upgraded springs retainers and **** in the head but left stock valves. was just cruising and it poped. snapped 4 heads off the valves and number 3 piston..err wasnt really a piston anymore, and the head was beyond trashed.

i wish you luck man. looks like you just need a new swap, and time to scrap that crap you have now.

 

I was actually leaving the track, where I didn't run my car because I was scared to break something. A G35 pulled up next to me on the interstate on the way home.

 

To answer your question, just think about it. 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear, 2nd gear...

 

You need to swap in an automatic.

 

My personal favorite is the cataclysmic 5-2 downshift.
