Default 97 hatch gauges died

My speedo and fuel gauge died a few months back along with the lights and such. Replaced a fuse, lights came back no gauges though. I am tired of not being able to tell how much fuel or how fast I'm going. Am I missing a fuse or something? The cover is long gone and the only one I found online just showed the fuse for the lights.

Sorry if this is covered already, search is to slow or large for my phone to load.

Have you checked whether fuse 25 under the dash is blown?

Either that, or check your wiring harness. Sometimes a single wire can slip out of the harness and cause these types of problems...

Fuse 25 is good. Pulled out the gauges and the wires and pins are all sitting in their proper place.

Meh, it could just be a shorted wire...maybe do a light test on the gauge end of the wires...one of them might just be jacked up. I don't see it being any other problem. Unless your gauge needle is just jammed.

It's not the needle as all three (fuel, temp and speedo) don't work. I used the test light at the gsuge end of the wires and only three lit, one illuminated the battery light when grounded. Otherwise it was just one wire on each that has power.

I made sure the harnesses are fully seated at the fuse box and the are.

Anyone else had this problem and solved it yet? I have seen the same problem, but never a fix posted.

All fuses are good. All connections are tight and clean. I pulled the entire gauge harness out from the fuse box, back of the gauges and the thermo control unit. Checked for breaks and worn wires, everything looked good. Double checked the ground, cleaned it thoroughly and re-mounted, none of this helped. None of the gauges function still. All lights work, blinkers work, four way flashers work. Having no gauges gets old quick.
