zc dohc help plz!
ok i got every thing done and its throwing a code 9 and that is cps but i had a buddy to come over and look at it and he said that i had a burnt valve and thats why am throwing this code could this be or no cause of the way it sounded starting up n the way it sounded on ?
what u mean , put the plugs in rite? , well when it starts up it sounds really rough n wants to shut off, i dont even know if the sensor is pluged into the ecu but its pluged up , up front near the dizzy
I had a similar problem with my zc when I put it in. I took the valve cover off and noticed 3 stuck intake valves. Engine has approx 50,000 miles. The machine shop said that the intake valves had this strange black(no, it's not carbon) stuff that was making them stick. your description sounds excactly what happened to me (provided your wiring conversion is right). Pull your valve cover and find out. Also check your valve timing.
don't pull the head until you examine the the valves. Look over where the valve rocker meets the camshafts. If anything is wrong, it should be pretty apparent. and check the camshaft timming, ZC's are notorious for being off by a tooth or two.

Did you check the valve timing? At top dead center( when the single crank pulley notch is lined up with the pointer on the cover, this can be hard to see without taking the alternator belt off). The up arrows on both camshafts should be at the 12:00 position, the inner notches of the cam sprocket should face eachother and be level with the mating surface of the valve cover, the outer notches should be one tooth above the valve cover mating surface.
